Is your home feeling a little outdated and in need of some sprucing up? If your décor is getting you down, then it may be time to give your home a much-needed revamp. This doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg – with these handy makeover tips, you’ll gather some inspiration on how you can freshen up your home in no time.

Bright Colours

A new lick of paint can go a long way, and it can make a big change to a room without having to completely remodel it.

f your living room is looking a bit dull and underwhelming, try repainting the walls with a bright, vibrant colour to give it some life? You can take help from a professional painter too, if you find it difficult doing it yourself. For instance, yellow is a great paint option, as it radiates positivity and warmth and can literally brighten up a room, especially if you don’t get enough natural light. Blue is also a good colour, as it symbolises harmony and peace of mind, or if you want loud and energetic, why not go for orange, as this represents merriment and revitalisation. If you’re not 100% sure, you can always just paint a single wall, and if the colour works for you, you can paint the rest of the room. Or, you could just keep it as a feature wall

Update the Bathroom

Our bathrooms are where we retreat to when we want to soak in a hot bath or wash away the day in a steamy shower. It’s our place of relaxation, our sanctuary, so its decor needs to reflect that. However, if your bathroom is looking tired or grubby, then it can be hard to imagine relaxing in there. Don’t let your bathroom get overlooked; with Plumbing Trade Centre you can make your bathroom look brand new with just a few alterations, such as new designer towel rails or a new shower screen.

Open Floor Plans

Open spaces are becoming more popular for homeowners, as they create the illusion of more space. Having an open floor plan is also handy if you want to host friends at your home and want to create more space for socialising. This doesn’t always have to involve knocking down walls; by replacing or rearranging items of furniture that take up space, you can effortlessly create a stylish open floor layout. Open floor living is all about being able to move with ease, so make sure there are no ornaments or furniture that could be acting as obstacles.

Revamp the Garden

If you have a garden area, it can help to give this an overhaul, too. Even if you aren’t especially green-fingered, having a lovely-looking garden can do wonders for your attitude and also increase the appeal of your home. One of the easiest ways you can spruce up your garden is to mow the lawn; far too many homeowners let their gardens become overgrown and unkempt, and this can make it a massive chore when they finally do come to mow their lawn. After this, try to add some pops of colour to your garden by planting different flowers; fuchsias are a good choice, as they do well in shade. Or, if your fence has seen better days, give it a fresh coat of paint. In the warmer months, you can set up an outdoor table and chairs and maybe some fairy lights for when you sit outside with a drink in the evenings.

There are several ways you can update your garden, so don’t let it go forgotten!
