If one of your 2020 resolutions is to travel more and see as many countries as possible, then now is the ideal time to start planning your next trip. Of course, what may be holding you back and putting the brakes on your plan to travel more could be your budget, especially if you’re someone who likes to travel in style.

Hostels and cheap motels are all well and good when you’re in your teens and all you want to do is get out there and explore. But as we get older, one of the most enjoyable parts of heading off abroad is staying somewhere that offers the perfect place to relax and unwind while we explore the local area and its’ sights and attractions.

The issue is that when you have a taste for the finer things in life but lack a budget to match, planning getaways can become somewhat stressful. However, if you are smart about how you travel, you can easily reduce the cost of your next trip - and any other trips you want to plan for the remainder of the year.

Keen to learn more about how you can go about cutting your travel costs? Have a read of the tips and ideas below!

Set an annual budget and stick to it

The first step to take when planning any trip is to set a budget and ensure that you stick to it. If you are planning on taking a few trips this year, why not set an annual budget and then set smaller budgets from within that main budget for each individual trip? That way, you can ensure that you don’t accidentally spend all of your spare funds on just one trip and are able to put enough by to plan a few getaways throughout the year.

Opt for package holidays

A great hack for saving money while also travelling in style is to look at package holidays and the options that are available to you. You will often find that with package deals, you can save a large amount of money and still have the most incredible trip. This is because a package deal, such as the ones offered from Exoticca travel, includes everything, from your flights and transfers to your accommodation and often, your food and drink. By choosing to book with an operator like Exoticca, that offers a reputable travel service and an array of package deals, you can cut your travel costs and book with the knowledge that your trip is in safe hands.

Set aside spending money

One of the most common causes of overspending on vacation is failing to put aside a set amount of spending money for your trip. If you are going to ensure that you don’t end up spending too much while you’re on vacation, set aside spending money in a separate account to your main account so that you don’t accidentally spend too much by dipping in and out of your account as and when you see things you like and want to buy. It’s nice to be able to purchase souvenirs from your trip, but what you don’t want to do is end up spending too much.

Believe it or not, even on a small budget you can plan the most amazing trip. It’s just a case of knowing what steps you need to take to ensure that you don’t end up overspending and breaking the bank.
