All aboard the British Pullman for a taste of the Golden Age of Travel

A regular sight at its home of London Victoria train station, Orient-Express’ British Pullman train will be leaving the hustle and bustle of the ‘big smoke’ for the fresh sea air and sweeping Devonshire coastline, where it will welcome guests at Plymouth and Exeter stations to experience the atmosphere of the era of the Golden Age of Travel.

The stunning vintage 1920s and 1930s carriages of the British Pullman, sister train to the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, are a haven of crisp white table cloths, glistening crystal filled with fine wines and Champagnes, gleaming brass fittings, beautifully crafted Art Deco marquetry and liveried stewards. Once seated in their plush armchairs, guests can sit back and enjoy a delicious five course cuisine and leave the business of everyday life behind.

The Golden Age of Travel Lunch leaves on a round-trip from Plymouth on Saturday 27th April and its scenic route will include Newton Abbot passing the coast to Dawlish Warren offering fantastic views of the South Devon coast before heading back to Plymouth. Prices start from £310 per person.

The Golden Age of Travel Dinner leaves later that evening from Exeter on a round-trip which journeys south to Starcross along the coast through Paignton and eventually onto the private Dartmouth steam railway line with picturesque views across the estuary to Dartmouth. Prices start from £310 per person.
