The Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Percy Prowse, has officially opened a new medical dispensing centre and clinic in the city.

Family-owned Salts Healthcare from Birmingham, has now opened their 20th UK Salts Medilink Centre at 119 Sidwell Street, Exeter. replacing the Lyndsey and Son shop.

Staff from the Onward Care Service in Exeter organised an event to raise public awareness of falls and how to reduce the risk of falling.

The team ran a stand in the Oasis restaurant at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, where they are based, as part of Falls Awareness Week.

The staff, employed by the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust and Devon County Council, linked up with colleagues from RD&E, the Acute Community Team (ACT), the Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) team and Exeter Community Hospital (Whipton).

A new study has revealed that gardens in care homes could provide promising therapeutic benefits for patients suffering from dementia.

Young adults report being offered a chlamydia test has a positive impact on their subsequent healthcare-seeking and sexual behaviour, according to a new Public Health England (PHE) report out this week.

After testing for chlamydia, 62% of respondents to an anonymous web survey reported they were more likely to use condoms with a new partner and 66% reported they were more likely to test for chlamydia again.

Based in Exeter, the clinic provides expert adult sleep therapy with treatment for insomnia and related sleep problems.

A survey of over 2,800 users of the NHS ambulance service’s innovative Hear and Treat service shows patients were extremely positive about their experiences.
