Customers looking to get fit and healthy were treated to free smoothies, fruit and fun healthy activities at the Tesco Exeter Vale Extra store.

A new healthy-lifestyle service commissioned by Devon County Council aims to help the increasing number of adults at risk of developing long-term health conditions take small steps toward a healthier lifestyle.

A new 24 hour maternity triage service is set to launch at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, which will give expectant mums direct access to support from qualified midwives if they have concerns about their pregnancy.

The service, which opens on 23rd January, includes a new triage team of experienced midwives, a triage unit within the Ante/Postnatal Ward and a dedicated 24 hour phone number to call for help and guidance.

People in Exeter, and the surrounding area, are being given the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of local people with dementia by becoming Dementia Friends Champions. People can book now to attend a touring induction day that is coming to the city on Tuesday 7 February.

People in Exeter lose fewer teeth than the average for the South West according to research from mydentist, which has over a million patients in the region.

Patients at mydentist, North Street, Exeter, have had 7.88 extractions for every 100 patients over the last year compared to 10.67 extractions across the South West as a whole and an average of 11.14 for the UK.
