Vision Express is encouraging locals to not let their eyesight become another casualty of the pandemic after millions missed their regular eye appointment due to Covid-19
Over 2 million adults have not been for a regular eye check in over five years and that Covid-19 has been a significant reason for people not attending their bi-annual appointments. That’s why Vision Express is reminding everyone that its stores are still open, with eye health and safety at the top of the priority ensuring all eye concerns and needs are looked after.
Dan McGhee, Director of Professional Services at Vision Express advises: “All our customers worried about existing appointments can be reassured that these will continue to take place as planned safely. We are taking the necessary infection prevention control measures being directed from the Public Health, the NHS, Regulators and Professional bodies to ensure we are following all recommendations.
“The research we carried out in 2020 shows a worrying large number of adults missed eye tests because of Covid. I would urge all adults with any eye care need or with eye examinations due, to continue to book an appointment as planned. Maintaining regular eye health checks can rule out other more serious issues that could be present without obvious physical symptoms.
“Social distancing measures have been put in place, along with limiting the time that is needed to be spent in store, by taking preliminary information over the phone. All staff will be equipped with PPE, and there will be signage around the store to help guide and direct you and equipment and frames in all stores are cleaned to the highest of hygiene standards frequently throughout the day”.
