Cranbrook to Host First eat:Festival Food and Drink Event

eat:Festivals will be hosting a food and drink festival in Cranbrook on Sunday 13 September 2026.

The festival will be happening in the heart of the town, on and surrounding the Tillhouse Road. eat:Festivals are a small social enterprise who have been delivering one day food and drink festivals in towns across the south-west for over 13 years. A Devon charity is raising money this Christmas by selling a very special chocolate.

Paignton Zoo, a registered education, science and conservation charity, is believed to be one of the first zoos in the UK to stock Madecasse Chocolate, made from the finest Madagascan cocoa.

Paul Bellingham, of Paignton Zoo, said: “This is really special, as most chocolate is processed outside Africa. It’s a perfect product for us to sell – made from shade-grown cocao, harvested without damaging natural forest habitat, it generates jobs and money for local people in a developing economy....

Exeter ‘Come Dine With Me’ star's fundraiser

Exeter-based PR Consultant Glen King, with clients across the South West, celebrated her TV debut on popular Channel 4 programme, ‘Come Dine with Me’ by hosting a special event to raise awareness for Exeter Foodbank.

Glen organised an evening for close friends and family at the luxurious kitchen showroom Sapphire Living Space located at Topsham which was sponsored by V-Zug. Guests were welcomed with wine and canapés and asked to donate tins and packets of food for the local worthy cause.

Fresh veg from school allotment to soup kitchen

Southbrook School pupils are growing seasonal vegetables in their allotment and making soup for the homeless of Exeter. The Soup Kitchen at St David’s Church receives batches of nutritious soup from Southbrook which is distributed on Thursday evenings to the homeless.

Lloyd's Kitchen's Business Event

Members of the local business community were welcomed with wine and canapés at the newly refurbished Lloyd’s Kitchen based in the heart of the City. The event celebrated the re-brand and showcased the new dinner menu as the restaurant now opens for Friday and Saturday evenings. Gold for the Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink at the Devon Tourism Awards

The Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink has won gold in the Tourism Event of the Year category of the 2013 Devon Tourism Awards.

After the awards ceremony, which was held in Torquay last week, Michael Caines MBE, tweeted: “Great result after 10 years, a great achievement for all involved!”

This year saw stiff competition with an increase to over 100 entries from the cream of the Devon tourism industry, with 44 businesses selected as finalists, each winning either Gold, Silver, Bronze or Highly Commended awards.
