Cornish Bakery open in Exeter

Cornish Bakery, the independent, founder-driven company first started in Mevagissey, Cornwall, is now open in the Cathedral city of Exeter. The beautiful, design-led new bakery opened in style on Monday 17th November 2025. The company already successfully operates bakeries nearby in Sidmouth, Totnes and Taunton.

Concern for dairy farmers grows

The law firm behind the campaign to protect West Country milk producers – Support South West Dairy Farmers – is warning that the continuing drop in retail milk prices can only put further pressure on the industry.

Last week, Sainsbury’s announced that it is reducing its prices for one pint and two pints of milk to 45p and 75p respectively. It stressed that this will not mean a reduction in the price paid to farmers, which remains ring-fenced.

Torquay’s Bistrot Pierre does Bastille

Tuesday 14 July will see Torquay's Bistrot Pierre celebrating La Prise de la Bastille, the French national day.

A nationwide search has been launched by Mecca Bingo, offering one lucky person the chance to join an exclusive tasting panel to help create the new winter menu for clubs across the UK.

The Rusty Pig in Ottery St Mary is renowned for using locally sourced, ethically produced ingredients, especially when it comes to pork.
