Cornish Bakery open in Exeter

Cornish Bakery, the independent, founder-driven company first started in Mevagissey, Cornwall, is now open in the Cathedral city of Exeter. The beautiful, design-led new bakery opened in style on Monday 17th November 2025. The company already successfully operates bakeries nearby in Sidmouth, Totnes and Taunton.

Located in a corner unit at 38 High Street, what was previously a Mountain Warehouse shop has been transformed into a stunning welcoming space for up to 46 visitors to gather and relax whilst enjoying the bakery’s range of exceptional food and drink.

Exeter allotments placed on world research map

Exeter has been placed on the World map when it comes to allotments, people in the city have been finding out.

The Devon capital intrigued a group of students from the United States so much they hopped on a plane and flew over here to find out more.

The 20 students from Arizona State University (ASU) have just wrapped up a short stay in Exeter, interviewing allotment holders as part of a study abroad course supported the Walton Sustainability Solutions Initiatives at ASU. In the few days they have been here, they have carried out some 200 surveys.

Buckfast Abbey to host Foragers Feast

Buckfast Abbey will be hosting a Foragers Feast pop up kitchen with local foraging expert David Beazley.

The feast will take place on the evening of Saturday 23 July in the restaurant of the Buckfast Abbey Conference Centre looking across the lawn to the Abbey Church.
