In-toto Kitchens to mark its 21st anniversary at Exeter Food and Drink Festival

In-toto Kitchens is celebrating 21 years in business this year and is delighted to mark this special occasion at the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink where it will, for the 11th year, provide the demonstration kitchen in the main cookery theatre.

A partnership established since the Festival was launched, In-toto works closely with 2 Michelin star chef, Michael Caines MBE, to design and install a highly specified demonstration kitchen incorporating top quality appliances, for this leading Festival each year – a kitchen that is enjoyed by the region’s finest chefs as they demonstrate their skills for an ever appreciative audience.

Two Michelin starred chef and co-founder of the Festival, Michael Caines MBE, said: “We have worked with In-toto Kitchens since the Festival began and are very pleased to count them among our partners. It’s fantastic to use such a high quality demonstration kitchen and Gordon and his team always make sure that it fits the bill perfectly!”

“We are extremely proud to be a part of an event that plays such a significant a role in the vibrant food and drink industry of the South West,” comments Gordon Bates, partner of In-toto Exeter. “It is no surprise that the Festival has become such a celebrated and award-winning event, with so much to offer both consumers and food and drink businesses.”

Established by Gordon and Angela Bates 21 years ago as a franchise of In-toto Kitchens, In-toto Exeter has grown significantly in that time but remains true to its original values - a family business providing exceptional customer service.

From its beginnings in a small showroom in the centre of Exeter, the business has grown significantly and now offers an impressive showroom at Matford Park, displaying a wide range of high quality kitchens, appliances and accessories and has recently unveiled a number of new kitchen displays.

Continual expansion of the business has seen Gordon and Angela’s son, Luke, daughter, Joanne, and son-in-law, Lee, joining them to create a strong team which offers a real understanding of kitchen design and commitment to ensuring customers’ design requirements are met.

An advanced computer-aided design system helps the team to work closely with customers to bring their dream kitchen to life. This, coupled with a full installation service including management of associated trades, ensures that the task of perfecting the heart of the home is accomplished smoothly!

The 21st anniversary year for In-toto has already been extremely busy with the installation and opening of the new skills kitchen as part of the Michael Caines Academy at Exeter College, comprising 16 fully-equipped work stations. It also provided the demonstration kitchen used by baking stars Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood at the recent Big Cake Show.

“An exciting year lies ahead,” adds Gordon, “we are currently installing a demonstration kitchen for Academy Nathan Outlaw at Cornwall College and will be staging various events throughout the year including the Devon Life Theatre Kitchen evening and our 21st anniversary Bake-a-Cake competition!”
