Calling all young, aspiring future chefs

Are you a budding young chef, aged between ten and fourteen years old, living in the South West? If the answer is 'yes' then this competition is definitely for you.  Manna from Devon Cooking School, in conjunction with The Bushman Wood Fired Ovens, is launching a search for the South West's junior wood fired oven pizza chef of the year.

This unique competition provides a great opportunity for hopeful, talented young chefs to demonstrate their culinary skills by submitting a delicious mouth-watering recipe for a margherita pizza and a creative pizza topping.  With an exceptional prize of a Bushman Wood Fired Oven on a rustic base with a pizza making tool kit, in total worth £3,000, as well as a cooking day for up to six people family and friends at Manna from Devon Cooking School, this new competition is set to be extremely popular.

The top eight applicants from each region will be invited to attend the competition's regional second rounds, allowing wannabe chefs to get hands on in dough making classes, cooking demonstrations and the chance to make their two delightfully tasty pizza recipes. The top talented young chef from each region, selected by the distinguished judging panel including local food 'celebrities', will have the opportunity to compete in the finals at this year's Dartmouth Food Festival (25 - 27 October 2013).

The regional rounds will take place at Manna from Devon Cooking School in The Bushman wood fired kitchen on Monday 19 August, The Victoria Park family friendly pub in Bristol on Tuesday 20 August, Lesley Waters Cookery School in Dorset on Wednesday 21 August, The Mount Somerset Hotel on Thursday 22 August and on the beach at the Watergate Bay Hotel in Cornwall on Friday 23 August.  Full details, including timings, are on the entry form.
