A fostering agency where ‘children do exceptionally well’ has received an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating following its latest inspection in February 2026.

Research released by the National Office of Statistics has uncovered that only 6% of divorcing couples consider pensions within their settlement, emphasising the frightening financial state many people find themselves post-divorce.

The Prudential agree, adding that 40 per cent of those planning to retire in 2013 have been divorced. In general they are less likely to have private pensions, more likely to retire with debts, and less likely to believe they are financially well prepared for retirement.

Special postcards are being given to holiday parks, local attractions, historic properties and tourist information centres across Teignbridge this summer as part of a domestic abuse awareness campaign.

Summer fun in Exeter with Exeter City's football roadshows

Bookings are now being taken for Exeter City FC’s Football in the Community roadshows, which are again running throughout the summer holidays across the region.

Council to consider how it can strengthen and improve its fostering service

Devon County Council will consider a range of measures to reshape its fostering service and attract and retain more foster carers, in a report to be discussed at Cabinet this week (Wednesday 10 July).

With the number of children being placed by the Courts into the Council’s care increasing from 539 in 2008/9 to 693 in 2012/13, the Council's Fostering Service is conversely seeing falling numbers of carers, as people retire or opt out of the service.

Help needed to identify Devon’s privately fostered children

Devon County Council is asking people across the county to help them identify children living under private fostering arrangements, so can they offer support and advice.

The call to action is part of Private Fostering Week starting on Monday 8 July. Run by the British Association for Adoption and Fostering , the week aims to raise awareness of private fostering.
