The annual Christmas celebration at the historic Cricklepit Mill may only be a few minutes’ walk from the High Street, but to the tired Christmas shopper it will feel like a world away.

Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park will hear the jingling of bells this Christmas when Santa, Rudolph and his helpers fly in to visit the park throughout December.

As Christmas approaches, local charity Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau is helping people avoid a Christmas debt hangover by sharing their top ten tips for keeping festive finances in check.

Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau Chief Executive Steve Barriball, said:

Campaign launched to target speeding and careless drivers

Road safety charity Brake is today launching a campaign calling on all road users to look out for each other, to help stop the five deaths and 61 serious injuries that happen every day on UK roads, and particularly to protect people on foot and bike.

The annual Exeter City FC Santa Dash will be taking place ahead of the Carlisle match on 13 December 2014.

Women's unwanted gifts nightmare

A survey of women living in Exeter has revealed that nearly 80 per cent have received unwanted presents with more than half practising a pleased face before being given a gift.

The poll, by Persimmon Homes South West, also revealed not only the ultimate list of bad presents but who are the worst gift givers. A quarter said some presents had caused a row while more than half have now told people not to bother giving them gifts as they know they will not like them.
