It may seem more like November than August at the moment but the Heart of Devon tourism partnership have a ‘whatever the weather’ philosophy and know that it’s always sensible to have a plan b - come rain or shine!

We do appreciate that getting soaked to the skin may not be everyone’s cup of (cream) tea so this page showcases the excellent and quirky indoor things to do and wet weather attractions and activities in the Heart of Devon.

The five day forecast is as follows

Today:

A very wet start to the day with outbreaks of thundery rain. During the day the rain should clear slowly brining some late afternoon brightness. Feeling relatively cool with a keen northwesterly breeze. Maximum Temperature 16°C.

Tonight:

This evening cloud will break up leaving clear spells overnight. By dawn cloud will once again thicken heralding the arrival of the next band of rain from the southwest. Minimum Temperature 8°C.

Tuesday:

Quickly turning very wet through the morning with rain pushing northeast. By the afternoon this will have cleared leaving some bright spells mixed with drizzly showers. Maximum Temperature 20°C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Staying unsettled with low pressure bringing showers and longer spells of rain at times. It will be blustery too and feeling a little cool for the time of year.
