Author Writes Book

For years, I've collected newspaper headlines that leave me thinking "And....?". A top example was a piece in the Express & Echo: 'Police choir sings'. A headline that wasn't quite.

Is it the same with the title above? Well, for me personally, no. For more than fifty years, stories have wandered unasked into my head; I've picked them up, turned them over, tickled their tummies perhaps, and then set them down to run away. But last April was different.

My eye was caught by a piece in the local paper about the venerable Devon & Exeter...

Weston built the portfolio over five decades and was entranced by the glamour of the golden era of film, and captured by the beauty of icon Marilyn Monroe. The photographs follow the Hollywood star through her career, from her beginnings as a model and actress in 1948, to her final photo shoot in 1962. The collection is comprised of the works...

The chance to be wined and dined alongside members of the Exeter Chiefs first team squad certainly proved a smash hit as over 300 females descended on Sandy Park for the latest Ladies Night (Thursday 30 January).

In a fun-filled evening at the home of the Aviva Premiership club, party-goers not only got the chance to be in the company of the Chiefs players for a night, but they were royally entertained with musical performances from both Adam Isaac and Riccardo, as well as getting the chance to dance the night away with Danny’s Disco.

A series of games – including ‘Fact or...

Review: Sean Hughes - Penguins

Authored by CHallam

Sean Hughes has probably changed a little bit since you last saw him. He is, after all, forty seven and not on our screens as much as he was in his Nineties TV heyday. Even his Irish accent has faded. But he’s still funny.

His latest show Penguins begins in zany fashion with Sean performing a brief puppet show to the strains of Edith Piaf’s 'Je ne regretted rien'. Which he proceeds to mime to. While in drag. The reasons for his choice of dress are never really explained and Sean even questions his own music selection arguing (convincingly) that anyone who tells you that they have...
