This year is the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth, and there won't be a more spectacular tribute than Four of Swords Theatre's latest production.

The Exeter-based company will perform a striking new adaptation of Macbeth in Beer Quarry Caves, the first time a theatrical production has been staged at the 2,000 year old site between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis. The quarry is famous for its "Beer Stone" which was used in the building of Exeter Cathedral, St Paul's and Windsor Castle among others.

New family adventure club coming soon

A Touch of the Wild are going to be running a new family adventure club for just £15 ( for up to five people) from April.

ATOTW, located at Haldon Forest Hill, provides fun and challenging environmental education activities for all ages.

In April they will be running their new family adventure club, which will see its visitors playing games, exploring the woods, tracking wild animals, building dens, lighting campfires and lots more.

ABBA fans in Exeter have chance to see UK's number one tribute act

THE UK'S official number one ABBA tribute band are heading to Tiverton Golf Club, Devon, in April.

ABBA Revival won the accolade at the recent National Tribute Awards, hosted by The Agents' Association.

Their show at the golf club on Friday 4 April sold out within two weeks in January.

The quick sell-out prompted the club to book a second date with the same band on Thursday 3 April (7pm), which is open to everyone.

Fresh from cycling around Devon with a miniature pig, comedian Tony Hawks combines story-telling, stand up, musical comedy and film clips to create two hours of fun when he comes to Exeter’s Northcott Theatre next week.

Tony is a new resident of Devon having falling in love with the county when he visited it for a screening of one of his films and is delighted to be playing in Exeter.

Joan Armatrading brings her first solo world tour to Exeter

Over her 42 years of touring Joan Armatrading has never done a solo world tour.

For her last major tour she has decided that this is the perfect time to perform her first ever full scale solo concerts, and will be performing at Exeter Corn Exchange on Friday 21 November.

Her performances will include songs that span her entire career so far.

Exeter Folk Festival returns to Canal Banks

After the success of last year’s festival, plans are well underway for the second year of Exefest – Exeter Canalside Folk Festival.

Headliner Melrose Quartet, nominated for Best Group at the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, is the coming-together of multi-award winning duo Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, and legendary Sheffield duo Richard and Jess Arrowsmith.

Stage by Stage, Exeter's own theatre arts school, has won a string awards at the Exeter Dance Festival during the half term holidays.
