Creatures great and small scuttle into Devon

A menagerie of creatures great and very small will scuttle into Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park on Friday 28 March for the official opening of the brand new attraction, Bugz Unlimited.

The new attractions represent part of a £1 million investment in the Park’s 25th anniversary year and will officially be opened by TV Wildlife Presenter, Nick Baker.

Guests can explore a world of interesting creepy crawlies in Bugz Unlimited, with a Leaf Cutter Ant display and other fascinating creatures including a giant African land snail, Chilean Rose Tarantula, Jungle Nymph Stick...

The Chattiest Streets in the South West are the Happiest Streets

Making small talk with a neighbour doesn’t always come naturally for people in the South West but when they do make the effort they feel happier, a new study has revealed.

A national survey carried out by Lottery-funded initiative The Big Lunch, the UK’s annual get-together for neighbours, found that more than 70% of people in the South West said that small talk makes them feel happier, despite it not coming naturally for 40% of those who responded.

Some 750 children from schools around Exeter have been working with education officers to create stunning banners on the theme of Reading the Cathedral.

Exeter Cathedral marks its 900th anniversary this year and the banners are on display in the nave.

After What Comes Before, an exciting new performance by Leeds-based Manic Chord Theatre company is coming to Exeter's Bike Shed Theatre on Monday 17 March.

Honiton Church to host charity Violin Recital

With spring finally pushing through the last remnants of winter, St Paul’s Church in Honiton is set to play host to a Spring Violin Recital on Wednesday 19 March at 7.30pm.

The event, sponsored by Gilbert Stephens Solicitors, will feature Devon violinist Marie Langrishe. Marie is 19 and lives near Honiton. Crealy great fun!

I had been promising my 10-year-old son Sam a trip to Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park as soon as the wet weather disappeared. So, with the promise of a dry weekend on the cards and with the recent opening of new attraction The Lost World of Atlantis, last weekend was the perfect time to head for Devon’s greatest adventure park!
