“Russell Crowe may not be available and their budget is limited, but they are determined it will be a show you’ll never forget...”

This February South West based comedy duo Spitz & Co return to Exeter’s The Bike Shed Theatre for what the theatre’s co-founder David Lockwood has described as “the funniest thing he’s ever seen.” A big claim, but one that appears to be echoed by audiences and critics alike and culminating in the production winning the Critic’s Choice Award at the 2014 Exeter ignite Festival.

Silverton’s drama troupe, the Silverton Luvvies, is gearing up for its next production, a murder mystery play set over six decades – “The Secret of Willoughby Hall”.

This follows the group’s sell-out production in 2014, which honoured the lives of Silverton’s WW1 soldiers, “Trenches and Wenches”. The play, as with all of the Silverton Luvvie’s productions, is an original work written by director Portia Smith and Iain Gonoude (in cahoots with the Luvvies themselves).

The three-act play, set in the fictional Willoughby Hall, starts in the 1950s and takes the audiences on a...

I Am Kloot were shortlisted for the Mercury Prize in 2010 for their album Sky at Night, but it’s not the only time John received heady praise for his work. The Guardian called his 1989 mini-album You, Me and the Alarm Clock ‘one of the greatest albums you’ve never heard’.

It will be a ‘rare opportunity to see a real music legend up close and personal’, says the South Devon Arts Centre, one of the venues John will...
