‘Terrors Of The Théâtre Diabolique’ is a thrilling new collection of original horror fiction from the Cygnus Alpha writers’ collective sold in aid of the mental health charity, MIND.

Cygnus Alpha is Exeter’s very own Sci-fi Fanzine that was popular in the 80’s with Rusell T Davies (Doctor Who Producer) then subscribing to it. St Thomas Gospel Choir have won a national award for "Contribution to the UK Gospel Music Industry" in the choir catagory of the PraiseTek Gospel Music Awards 2014. Each year, these awards acknowledge the work of various singers, musicians, choirs, rappers, bands and media personnel working in the UK gospel music scene.

Choir director, Kathy Rufolo and her fiance, Dale Hurrell, who sings bass in the group, went to London to receive the award on behalf of the choir with nearly 50 members.

Over the last few months people have been calling in to offer information and memories about Trinity Hall – now Cygnet Theatre – in Friars Gate, Exeter. Trinity Hall is 100 years old this year and everyone is invited to a spectacular birthday celebration!

A new collection by an infamous art forger will be on display at an Exeter art gallery for two weeks only. Castle Galleries, Exeter will be exhibiting the works of painter John Myatt from Saturday 25th October until Sunday 9th November. Myatt rose to fame through his involvement in what Scotland Yard refers to as ‘the biggest art fraud of the 20th century’. Get closer to nature this half term

There are plenty of opportunities to get out and about this half term and enjoy our outstanding East Devon countryside.

Birdwatching for children on Tuesday 28 October is a free event. An interest in nature is best encouraged at the earliest possible age – that is the firm belief of East Devon District Council’s Countryside team.

Vienna Festival Ballet’s The Nutcracker

Groups of lads, couples, and families packed in to Exeter’s Corn Exchange over the weekend to watch the Vienna Festival Ballet’s adaption of The Nutcracker. The dance troupe, made up of male and female dancers from across the globe, gave me my first taste of a ballet show.

Props are minimal if not void for ballet shows, so it was the shadow of ballet shoes from beneath the curtains and music from Tchaikovsky that got the crowds buzzing with anticipation ahead of the performance.
