Budleigh Literary Festival line-up revealed

Organisers of the Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival have released the line up for this year’s festival, taking place from 17th-20th September.

Website helps anglers find best spot to fish

A new mobile-friendly interactive website has been launched today to help anglers, and would-be anglers, find the best spot to fish.

Fishinginfo.co.uk provides everything needed for a fishing trip, from searching for fishing spots to what the weather is doing and live water levels to information on buying a rod licence and where to buy kit.

Produced by the Angling Trust in partnership with the Environment Agency, Met Office and Post Office, Fishinginfo.co.uk is part of a major nationwide drive to increase participation in angling.

Open air theatre comes to East Devon

Open air theatre, including works by Shakespeare and Jane Austen, will be staged in two of East Devon’s best loved parks this summer.

Four touring theatre companies are bringing their productions to the beautiful Connaught Gardens in Sidmouth and Manor Gardens in Exmouth in a joint project between East Devon District Council’s StreetScene and Countryside departments. Topping the bill will be The Tempest, Much Ado about Nothing, Hamlet, Pride and Prejudice and the Triumph of Love.

Share memories of cinema-going in Exeter

An opportunity to share memories of going to the cinema in the UK during the 1940s, 1950s and 60s is being provided on 13th June at the University of Exeter’s Bill Douglas Cinema Museum between 2pm and 5pm.

Members of the public are invited to attend the free event, and after a brief presentation, to reminisce over tea or coffee about films seen and enjoyed during this period.
