Kindly Leave the Stage – UK TOUR 2016 A comedy by John Chapman Directed by Adam Morley

Norwich based Baroque Theatre Company announce their 2016 tour of John Chapman’s farce Kindly Leave the Stage. Back by popular demand, and marking Baroque’s biggest to date, Kindly Leave the Stage will play in an impressive 33 venues across the UK- from Penzance in Cornwall to Carlisle in Cumbria, and many towns and cities in between.

Kindly Leave the Stage opens in Horsham on 1 April and arrives in Exeter at the Cygnet Theatre on 2 June.

From the theatre company who recently brought A Christmas Carol to Exeter Northcott Theatre, vibrant and innovative Creative Cow promises an evening of intoxicating adventure in an adaptation of Graham Greene’s most entertaining of books ‘Travels With My Aunt’.

Described by Greene as ‘the only book I have ever written for the fun of it’, the play takes its audience on a whirlwind journey, plotting one very ordinary man’s extraordinary journey of self-discovery. Touring venues around the UK the play comes to the Northcott Theatre, Exeter between 10-14 May.

People travelling to next month's BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend at Powderham Castle near Exeter are reminded that they need to book public transport well in advance of the event.

The Big Weekend takes place on 28 and 29 May and 50,000 ticket holders will have the unique opportunity to watch performances by world class bands and artists including Coldplay, Mumford and Sons and Ellie Goulding.

The event is being hosted by Radio 1 DJs and is being delivered in partnership with Teignbridge District Council and Exeter City Council.

EMG Symphony Orchestra said farewell to its conductor with a performance of Britten’s War Requiem at Exeter Cathedral yesterday, 23 April. The Cathedral was full to capacity for the concert. A huge choir joined almost 100 players for the performance, which fell on the same date as the first bombing raids on Exeter during 1942. On 23 April that year, seven high explosive bombs fell west of the river in St Thomas and Marsh Barton with four fatalities.
