BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Huw Stephens last night announced the line-up for the BBC Introducing stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Exeter, revealing that acts including The Hunna, Emmi, Black Foxxes and Declan McKenna, will perform alongside returning acts Rosie Lowe, Blossoms, Spring King and Izzy Bizu at Europe’s biggest free ticketed event at Powderham Castle on 28 and 29 May. The BBC Introducing stage at Big Weekend will showcase performances from the best emerging talent from across the UK, and will include appearances from a number of artists with links to Devon including Tiny Folds...

Fiddle and violin players from across the South West are invited to an exciting day of music-making led by expert tutors in Okehampton.

The Wren Music Fiddle Day on Saturday 25th June is a chance for experienced players and complete beginners to develop their playing and their knowledge of the instrument.

The day focuses on learning new skills and techniques as well as repertoire development, with a chance for other acoustic instruments to join in the afternoon.

Wildflower meadows - bees love them, butterflies love them, people love them. Nothing sums up summer like the experience of walking through a species-rich meadow, carpeted with flowers and alive with insects.

Yet across the country, wildflower meadows have all but disappeared – 97 per cent of them have gone since the second world war. And Dartmoor is no different. Fortunately, there are still some wonderful survivors.
