An ambitious production of Scrooge the Musical – based on the Dickens’ classic ‘A Christmas Carol’ - promises to be a festive treat for audiences.

The song-filled community performance, which features actors, singers and dancers from Kentisbeare Performing Arts, takes place at Kentisbeare Village Hall from Tuesday December 6 to Saturday, December 10.

The team at the Exeter Christmas Market are all hands on deck in a final push to prepare the festive market for opening this Saturday on Cathedral Green.

After the recent fire which destroyed several historical buildings in Cathedral Yard, there was concern that the market may not have been able to go ahead. A photographic exhibition which gives an insight into Devon’s war hospitals during the First World War (1914–18) has opened at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

‘Devon Caring in War’ includes a series of images showing how the county’s war-wounded were cared for on their return home, including by the use of some pioneering therapy techniques.
