Goody bags, Easter eggs and family fun at Exeter Racecourse

Families can look forward to a fun-packed Easter Raceday at Exeter Racecourse this Tuesday (April 7), with free goody bags, Easter eggs and a host of children’s activities on offer.

Young racegoers will be invited to take part in a racecourse-wide Easter trail, hunting for coloured eggs and earning a free Easter egg upon completing their sheet. Goody bags will also be handed out on entry, subject to availability, making it one of the best-value days out of the Easter holidays.

Over 40 tutors and students from one of the UK’s leading flower schools, the Academy of Floral Art near Exeter, are joining forces to create a series of floral displays in the Grade II listed Poltimore House to mark St George’s Day weekend. Students from Shotgun Theatre, the University of Exeter’s award-winning musical theatre society, have raised over £2,000 for their Edinburgh Fringe show in just four days. Following a sell-out run in Exeter last November, the group are running a crowdfunding campaign to cover the cost of performing the musical ‘Godspell’ at the festival this August.

Exeter School's 16th concert for WaterAid

For the 16th year running and with support from South West Water and On Tap Water, the talented young musicians and singers from Exeter School will perform a special concert to raise funds for international charity WaterAid.

All proceeds from the concert, which takes place at St Michael's Church, Heavitree, from 7.30pm on Wednesday 26 April, will go directly to WaterAid projects in Zambia, helping some of the country's poorest communities gain access to clean water and safe sanitation.

RAMM has commissioned a new artwork from the internationally-acclaimed glass sculptor, Steffen Dam, for its major summer exhibition Sea life: Glimpses of the Wonderful.

Dam will produce an artwork consisting of around 16 ‘marine life’ jars containing plausible but fictitious organisms.
