Gravity (PG) – A movie made for the big screen. Experience the multi award-winning, heart-pounding thriller Gravity out in the open and under the stars and be pulled into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space. When disaster strikes a seemingly routine mission and the space shuttle is destroyed, two astronauts are left completely alone – tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. WAM Exeter: Music4Macmillan
Saturday 10am, Princesshay Square, Exeter
Music from 10am supported by DJs from Phonic FM and live performers from Six Days, Clara Bond, Holly Morwenna and Mervyn Grattan from noon.  This is a free event but donations would be very welcome. In aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. There will also be a street collection taking place in the High Street and the Macmillan Cancer Information Support Specialists will be available to answer questions about cancer in Bedford Square.

Beautiful Days Festival 2014

Beautiful Days is the Levellers' family music festival which takes place at Escot Park in Devon with six stages, site art, a huge children’s area, comedy, theatre, family camping, licensed real ale bars from Otter Brewery & a great choice of food and craft stalls. Active Summer Day

EXHIBITIONS

Portraits by Rachael Jamieson
A la Ronde, Exmouth
The quirky 16-sided house near Exmouth, is hosting an exhibition of work by Rachael Jamieson between 14 and 27 August, from 10.30am to 5pm each day. Rachael is a local artist who oil paintings are full of life and character. The exhibition can be seen free of charge, in the stable and award winning tearooms.

Annabel Hanson
Exeter Cathedral
Having studied printmaking for 6 years, Annabel has started painting again. She is particularly interested in the farm animals in and around Whitestone (near Exeter) and in the surrounding countryside where she lives. Her work is on display until 3 December.

Materials Matter
Riverside Mill, Bovey Tracey
Materials Matter focuses on Members' relationship with their raw materials, and how it influences the work they produce. The exhibition celebrates this important relationship between maker and material. Free, open daily. http://www.crafts.org.uk/
