A Pacifist’s Guide to the War on Cancer

There Shall Be Fireworks

Inspired by the path to Afghanistan, well trodden down the ages whether by Western merchants, missionaries, Hippies or soldiers, There Shall Be Fireworks unearths a startling true story from a two hundred-year-old cemetery in Kabul known as the Kabre Gora (‘the Graveyard of Foreigners’). Yeocider 2016
Saturday, noon, New Community Hall, Yeoford
Come and join us at our ever popular annual cider festival. This year we have 16 ciders and perries plus real ale and ginger beer. As always, some tasty hot and cold food to wash it all down. All proceeds go towards Yeoford Village Community Hall. Yeoford is on the Exeter to Barnstaple train line so no one needs to drive.

Fashion to Dye For
Killerton House, Broadclyst, Exeter
Killerton's latest exhibition 'Fashion to dye for', will be opening its doors to invite people into the wardrobe to discover how colours, dyes and design shaped fashion history. From a 50's red silk gown (said to have belonged to Princess Margaret), to a 70's blue denim jacket and flares and a young boys red dress - colour can reveal much about the wearer. The collection brings to life how colour can reveal much about the wearer and also looks into the origins, status and function of colour in fashion. The Beauty of Light on Dartmoor

An exhibition by international award winning photographer and film maker Jonathan Scott. Jonathan has travelled the world and has had his work featured by the likes of National Geographic, the Discovery Channel, Google, the BBC, ITN and many more.  The exhibition runs until 5 March 2017.

Exeter Contemporary Open 2016

Exeter Contemporary Open 2016 is an annual, open submission exhibition, which over the last eleven years has built national and international reputation as a prime opportunity for artists to showcase their work, drawing audiences and attention from across the country. Kurt Jackson: Revisiting Turner’s Tourism
RAMM, Queen Street, Exeter
Visitors can explore changing Southwest landscapes in an exhibition featuring works by J.M.W. Turner, one of Britain’s greatest landscape painters, and contemporary British artist Kurt Jackson.  Kurt Jackson visited 12 locations in Devon and Cornwall depicted in Turner’s work. From Land’s End to Exeter he investigated and recorded the profound changes that have occurred between the 19th century and the present. The exhibition, Kurt Jackson: Revisiting Turner’s Tourism, showcases his diverse body of work in a variety of media with accompanying film, sketchbooks and other relevant material. Jackson’s new works are shown together with the Turner engravings that inspired them. The exhibition runs until 4 December.
