Children in Exeter and Exmouth will have the opportunity to tell Santa what is on their Christmas wish list this year as he visits the area on-board First Great Western (FGW) trains.

Santa and his helpers will use a specially decorated part of the train which will operate on normal train services running between Exeter Central and Exmouth through the scenic Avocet line.

First Great Western General Manager, West, David Crome said: “First Great Western is committed to supporting the communities we serve and when Santa came to us looking to rest his reindeer before the big day, we were only too happy to offer a speedy and equally economic alternative.

“Our helpful and friendly staff will assist the elves and allow more children to meet Father Christmas before he heads back to his workshop at the North Pole.”

The trains will run from Exeter Central to Exmouth and vice versa, departing Exeter Central at 10:22, 11:22, 12:26 and13:22; and departing Exmouth at 10:55, 12:00, 12:55 and 13:55 on Sunday 8 and 15 December. Tickets are for return journeys with customers enjoying the Santa experience one way.

Tickets are on sale now from the Exeter St Davids and Exmouth Booking Offices and are sold in aid of two local charities: Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF)  and Exeter Gateway. They cost £6 for an adult and £4 per child.
