Enjoy a picnic in the park and a hilarious performance of Canterbury Tales

Exmouth’s Manor Gardens will be the setting for an open air production of Canterbury Tales, performed by The Pantaloons theatre company on Wednesday 10 August.

The production – to be staged in Phear Park - is a funny new adaptation, making Chaucher’s Canterbury Tales accessible to all ages.

The performance starts at 7pm, with gates opening from 6pm for setting up seating and picnic.

Councillor Iain Chubb, East Devon District Council’s portfolio holder for the Environment said: “The Pantaloons performance of Gulliver’s Travels in Sidmouth earlier this year was hilarious and enjoyed by all ages. I am delighted that the London based theatre company is bringing its tour to Manor Gardens.

“These contemporary and entertaining performances are an exciting new offering from the Countryside team with the support of our StreetScene officers who manage the beautiful garden. It offers something quite unique to local residents and visitors to East Devon.”

Tickets are available for Canterbury Tales via the East Devon District Council Countryside team website at www.eastdevoncountryside.co.uk  or by calling the team on 01395 517 557.

Ticket prices are £12 for adults, £10 for concessions and £8 for under 18’s. They can also be bought on the evening of the performance, but must be paid for by cash.
