The Exeter Northcott Theatre has announced that its 2015 Christmas production will be a brand-new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ much-loved classic, A Christmas Carol and will be produced by Exeter Northcott Theatre and Creative Cow. The production marks the return of Exeter Northcott Theatre to once again producing its own work.

Ebenezer Scrooge is a notoriously bitter old man who is determined not to let Christmas interfere with his miserly routine. But one Christmas Eve, Scrooge receives some unexpected supernatural visitors who are determined to show him the true spirit of Christmas and the error of his ways.

Paul Jepson, Exeter Northcott Theatre’s artistic and executive director said: “I'm delighted to be working with Creative Cow on A Christmas Carol.  It was a favourite book of mine when I was a child and is a favourite of my children.  Creative Cow are a really exciting local company with bags of experience and broad appeal.”

Katherine Senior, Creative Cow’s co-founder said: “Creative Cow is over the moon to be working with Exeter Northcott Theatre this Christmas. It seems a long way off but we are already well in to the Christmas spirit and will be wrapped up in all things Scrooge from now until we open at the beginning of December 2015.

"As a touring theatre company it is an exciting new venture for us to take residence for 4 weeks in a theatre and being a Devon based company it makes it extra special to be doing it at Exeter Northcott Theatre.”

Creative Cow’s artistic director Amanda Knott will direct an ensemble company of actors and musicians to bring you this magical, inventive and heart-warming adaptation, with Dickens’ wit and masterful storytelling at its core. Guaranteed to appeal to young and old alike, A Christmas Carol will melt even the coldest of hearts and leave all rejoicing with festive spirit.

Book tickets before 30 April 2015 and save £5 off each family price ticket when purchasing three or more tickets in price bands A & B (applies to peak performances only).

Suitable for children aged seven and over.
