Devon is a fantastic place to live, but how many local residents look up to the hilly bit in the middle of the county and admit that they don’t really know much about Dartmoor National Park?

Well, now is the perfect time to explore ‘Dartmoor on your doorstep’ as the Dartmoor Walking Festival 2016 has begun.

The 9 day festival, organised by the Moorland Guides, is packed with a variety of walks to suit all abilities – there are even a couple of walks with a Dartmoor Ranger.

The action packed programme of events also includes some taster sessions for other activities, such as Nordic Walking, trying a Tramper (mobility scooter) and cycling on an electric bike – plus some evening walks and talks.

Come along and enjoy exploring your local National Park.

Visit www.dartmoorwalkingfestival.co.uk  to see the programme of events, or call into a National Park Visitor Centre at Haytor, Postbridge or Princetown to pick up a booklet.
