Following a phenomenal sell-out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Foster’s Comedy Award Nominee Kieran Hodgson is grabbing his bike and taking his show Lance on the road with his debut national tour - arriving in Exeter at the Bike Shed Theatre on 4 February 2016.

In 2003 Lance Armstrong won his 5th consecutive Tour de France, an achievement watched by a young and impressionable Kieran Hodgson from his West Yorkshire home. Lance is the hilarious story of growing up and moving on in the wake of a betrayal by your hero.

Lance traces Kieran’s experiences growing up and sees him embody his best friends in the Boy Scouts, reliving the years spent with them on his bicycle, as well as some of the colourful characters he met once he moved down South. This lively personal narrative is tied together through a representation of his fallen hero, Lance Armstrong, culminating with the Tour De France’s incongruous arrival in Yorkshire last year and Lance’s exposure and public humiliation.

Lance has now had two sold out week-long runs in the Downstairs Space at the Soho Theatre (as well as two weeks at the Invisible Dot) and will follow that up with a third week at the Soho from the 19th to 23rd January at 7.30pm: http://www.sohotheatre.com/whats-on/kieran-hodgson-lance

As well as displaying his impressive and hilarious live character comedy, Hodgson has appeared in BBC’s Jonathan Creek and Count Arthur Strong as well as E4’s Drifters and the box office smash Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa. Kieran also has a guest role in the upcoming second series of the BBC Three hit comedy Siblings.

Kieran will be seen as the role of Ian Lavender in BBC Two’s upcoming single drama WE'RE DOOMED! THE DAD’S ARMY STORY alongside John Sessions, Kevin Bishop and Sally Phillips, which will TX over Christmas. He will also star in Sam Simmons’ Christmas Cracker alongside Bridget Christie and which airs on Sky Arts and Sky On Demand over Christmas

As a regular on BBC Radio 4, Kieran has appeared in shows such as What The Future?, Newsjack and as a regular on the four part sitcom The Lentil Sorters with Vincent Franklin, Rebekah Staton and Julia Deakin. He also recently played Pliny the Younger in BBC Radio 4’s serial How To Survive The Roman Empire with Joanna Scanlan.

Kieran received great reviews for his portrayal of Johnathan Harker in Nick Mohammed / The Invisible Dot’s Dracula! Mr Swallow The Musical at both the Pleasance in Edinburgh and the Soho Theatre in London earlier this year: "Enthusiastic support comes from David Elms, Joanna Grace and particularly Kieran Hodgson as Jonathan Harker, who would make a serviceable David Tennant if the ex-Time Lord required a body double." Bruce Dessau, Evening Standard

Kieran is also a very talented writer who has television projects in development with Guilty Party Pictures, Kudos and What Larks.

So watch as Hodgson narrates his way through a Tour de force of weird and wonderful characters in a coming of age story filled with betrayal and redemption bound to leave you laughing.
