This summer, three laugh-out-loud performances will entertain the crowds at Killerton near Exeter. The evening theatre shows will be brought to life by Heartbreak Productions and The Lord Chamberlains Men against the backdrop of the National Trust hillside garden.

The entertainment kicks off on Thursday 14 July, 7.30-10pm, with Heartbreak Productions adaption of Oscar Wilde’s classic ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’. Expect hilarious mistaken identities as everyone learns the vital importance of being earnest.

On Tuesday 2 August, 7-10pm, the Lord Chamberlain’s Men reimagine Shakespeare’s battle-of-the-sexes comedy ‘Much Ado about Nothing’. The faced-paced, moving comedy has added significance this year, marking the 400th year anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.

The laughs continue on Saturday 13 August, 6-9pm, as Heartbreak Productions lift David Williams’ top-rated book ‘Ratburger’ from the pages. The family friendly show follows the popular ‘Mr Stink’ production last year. With a blend of dark reality and empowering comedy, the crowd will support the character Zoe as she tries to fulfil her dream.

Jess Holroyd, Visitor Experience Officer said: “Whether you’re looking for a period drama, a Shakespeare classic or a modern show for all the family, there’s a performance for you.

“The National Trust is a charity and money raised through events and catering at Killerton is directly reinvested to help us care for the estate. What better way to support the cause.”

Snacks and drinks will be available to take away from the Killerton Kitchen restaurant and visitors are advised to wrap up warm and bring a chair or a rug to the event.
