Exeter housebuilder donates books to local primary school children

Children at Alphington Primary School are set for exciting new literary adventures after receiving a donation of books worth £1,000. The generous gift of Usborne Books from local housebuilder, David Wilson Redrow South West, will help to bring the school’s new library to life, giving pupils the opportunity to discover new stories and develop a lifelong love of reading.

Craig Turner, Curriculum Senior Leader at Alphington Primary School, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have received this donation. These books will make a fantastic addition to our new library. Reading in primary school is so important – it opens the door to every other subject, through fuelling imagination and giving children the confidence to explore the world through words. Donations like these help us make reading accessible and enjoyable for every child.”
