Exeter Cathedral School shortlisted for Prep School of the Year

Exeter Cathedral School has been shortlisted as Prep School of the Year.

The prominent Times Educational Supplement Independent School Awards 2021 recognise and celebrate the most outstanding institutions and those making remarkable contributions in the sector.

The Headmaster, James Featherstone said: “We are very proud to have been shortlisted as Prep School of the Year, alongside our fellow finalists. It recognises the innovative, ambitious and dynamic ECS Community, working together to ensure our pupils thrive.

“It is humbly-received recognition of the commitment, energy and fellowship of the pupils, parents and staff. ECS is a place where people matter and we are pleased to share this fantastic news.”

The School, which has seen a surge of new pupils over the last year and achieved the top grading of ‘Excellent’ in all areas during its most recent ISI Inspection, has been on a remarkable journey over the last few years. The Times Awards have recognised the School’s purposeful and pupil-focussed initiatives, including its sector-leading remote learning programme – ECS: Learning 2021 – which received public acclaim from Microsoft, record scholarships at 13+ and a rolling-out of its far-reaching Wellbeing Programme.

Tes editor Jon Severs said: “After a difficult year for all schools, it is an honour to celebrate the Tes Independent School awards, not only to celebrate excellent practice but to ensure that practice is shared far and wide. We received an unparalleled number of entries this year, which is testament to the great work all have done during the pandemic. The schools that have been shortlisted should be proud - it's a remarkable achievement"

For the very first time, Tes Independent School Awards winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony on Friday 30 April 2021.
