A community garden project has received over £17,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK, to grow fresh produce for food banks and food action initiatives in Exeter and the surrounding area.

1. McDonald’s Franchisee, David Shawyer, has partnered with local Exeter charity CEDA to help renovate and tidy up their garden space.

Joined by a crew of nine volunteers from his Exeter McDonald’s restaurants, David Shawyer and his team refreshed the communal area by jet-washing the patio, rebuilding the fencing and storage shed, painting and decorating, installing new seating, and rejuvenating the garden by weeding, and adding new plants and flowers that can be enjoyed throughout the year.
