Taylor Wimpey Exeter donates over 3,000 winter essentials to homeless people and £10,000 to charity

Taylor Wimpey Exeter has donated 3,011 hats, gloves, scarves and socks to homelessness charity, CRASH, through collections from across the region.

As part of its Wrap Up Warm campaign, the leading homebuilder has donated over 14,000 much needed winter essentials to 24 homelessness centres in England, Scotland and Wales in support of its national charity partners - CRASH, St Mungo’s and CRISIS.

Taylor Wimpey Exeter collected the most winter essentials out of every Taylor Wimpey region, and came up with the most engaging video that showcased the collecting journey....

Exeter YMCA has received £30,000 in unrestricted funding from Leeds Building Society to create supportive, inclusive and energising communities in which young people can truly belong.

Exeter YMCA is one of the oldest YMCA’s in the world. It believes everyone can experience fullness of life in body, mind, and spirit. The end is in sight for Newton Abbot resident Alex Lyons, who’s closing in on the finale of a gruelling year-long challenge which has taken him right across Devon: running 50 half-marathons in 50 weeks to mark his 50th birthday and raise £10,000 for the local charity Life Chance Trust.

Alex’s 50th and final run will take place at the Torbay Half Marathon on Sunday, 21st September 2025, marking the end of an epic journey by the volunteer mentor to support vulnerable 16 - 25 year olds like ‘K’, now 18, whom Alex has mentored (story attached).

Bishop Fleming’s Exeter and Torquay offices are celebrating a successful year-long partnership with FORCE Cancer Charity, raising over £8,000 to support people affected by cancer across the region.

Exeter charity issues urgent appeal for volunteers

A charity tackling hunger, loneliness, and food waste by providing free three-course community meals for those in need, is appealing for urgent help from Exeter residents, amid a ‘summer volunteering slump’.

Community dining charity FoodCycle needs to fill almost 10,000 volunteering slots to keep weekly community meals going at around 100 locations in England and Wales this summer.

Westbank’s Community Allotment made accessible to all thanks to Kier’s volunteers

Manpower and materials donated to Westbank Community Health and Care by the Kier Group have transformed the charity’s Community Allotment at Exminster into a space that’s accessible to everyone.

Eleven local volunteers from Kier’s Natural Resources Nuclear & Networks division recently worked over a total of about 4 days to create a tarmac access ramp, level the ground and lay a concrete pathway to make the allotment accessible to wheelchair users. The monetary value of the work amounts to approximately £7,000, including labour and materials.
