Amy tackles huge challenge to thank FORCE

Twelve months ago, Amy Martin could barely run at all after a tough regime of cancer treatment.

But on Sunday May 24, she’ll be one of 440 people lining up as part of Team FORCE at Exeter’s Great West Run.

Amy aims to raise £1,000 for FORCE Cancer Charity to say thank you for all the support she has received from them since a diagnosis of breast cancer in late 2023.

If you would like to hear some acoustic rock tunes, all in aid of a good cause, then you need to pay a visit to St Stephens chuch on Saturday 14th December.

Devon Freewheelers has unveiled its latest fundraising scheme – a competition to win a trolley dash at the Tesco store in Honiton!

The prizewinner will have 60 seconds to sprint along the aisles and fill their trolley with food produce only, up to the value of £200.

As forecasters predict a freezing cold winter ahead two Devon charities have linked together to help those most in need. Hundreds of people across the county are faced with hardship and unable to heat their own homes – but the charities are offering a lifeline and they need support from local people. Prostate Cancer UK is staging its popular Jurassic Classic for a third successive year in Devon on Sunday, August 17th 2014.

The Jurrasic Classic caters for cyclists of all levels with distances ranging from 50 to 160km across three routes.

Compounds in cannabis could limit stroke damage

UK Stroke Forum have revealed that compounds found in cannabis could be beneficial to stroke victims.

It has been suggested, after research was conducted at the University of Nottingham, that chemical comounds found in cannabis may help to reduce brain damage following a stroke.

The findings showed that the compounds could reduce the size of a stroke and improve neurological function.

Exeter-based PR Consultant Glen King, with clients across the South West, celebrated her TV debut on popular Channel 4 programme, ‘Come Dine with Me’ by hosting a special event to raise awareness for Exeter Foodbank.
