Taylor Wimpey Exeter raises over £5k for Hospiscare 

Colleagues from Taylor Wimpey Exeter have raised £5,316.42 for Hospiscare, an independent charity providing specialist care to patients and their families living with life-limiting illnesses across Exeter, central and east Devon.

The funds were raised as part of Taylor Wimpey’s annual challenge, where a team of 15 from the housebuilder’s Exeter office completed a hike along the north Devon coastline, followed by a series of competitive, creative and strategic tasks.

Well now’s your chance to enter Devon’s biggest cycling event and to raise money for a vital local cause at the same time.

Diana Virgin and friend Alex Waldron are off to the hairdressers, but instead of cut and blow dry they are both shaving off all of their hair!

On May 3rd at the Honiton Conservative Club the pair will be having their heads shaved in full view of the public from 7:30pm onwards.

Exeter School pupils' charity concert

For the 13th year running, Exeter School musicians and singers will be performing a special charity concert next week to raise funds for international charity WaterAid. The concert will take place on Wednesday 7 May, at St David's Church in Exeter, at 7.30 pm.

Proceeds from this concert will go directly to WaterAid's projects in Zambia, where the funds will help some of the country's poorest communities gain access to clean water and safe sanitation.

Charity Quiz to benefit two local charities

Local law firm, Gilbert Stephens LLP, is set to host another of its popular charity quizzes on Thursday 15 May at Kennaway House, Sidmouth, to raise funds for two local charities – Sidmouth Voluntary Services and FORCE Cancer Charity.

Two friends from Exeter have raised over £2,200 between them for local charity Hospiscare. Suzanne Lovelace and Sadie Evans, landlady at The Royal Oak, St Thomas set themselves the “Channel Challenge”; swimming the width of the channel within a two week window in February. The channel is 22 miles long, the equivalent of 1,408 lengths of a 25 meter pool. Suzanne, who is 70 in June said she would “do it all over again” upon completion of the challenge.
