Devon charities announced as partners for huge weekend of live music

Four Devon-based charities have been selected to be official partners for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham runs for four nights from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28, featuring headline shows from vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims, seven-time GRAMMY winner Alanis Morissette and global superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Each night will see a local charity given the opportunity to have a team of fundraisers on site and for 2026 Live At Powderham will support Devon-based charities who make a big impact in the communities they serve....

A team of knitters from a leading Exeter law firm has produced 242 hats for its office charity Age UK Exeter’s Big Knit campaign. Kate Evans, a trainee solicitor at Stephens Scown LLP set up a knitting club in 2015 when it first took part in the Big Knit for Age UK Exeter. The club was so popular that it has become a regular fixture at the firm, with knitters of mixed ability meeting each Wednesday lunch time. Hospiscare’s Men’s Walk returns to Exeter`s Double Locks pub on Saturday 11th March 2017.

The sponsored walk is an 8 mile route along the Exe Valley Way canal path to the Turf Locks and back to the Double Locks.

Once complete, the men will be welcomed back with a free pint and hot Chunk pasty to enjoy the England v Scotland Six Nations match on large LED screens within the exclusive enlarged Hospiscare bar.

The Exeter raise over £16,000 for local charity

Local healthcare and protection insurance provider The Exeter has marked two years of fundraising for their Charity of the Year, Rainbow Living, with the presentation of a cheque for an outstanding £16,396.

Staff in the restaurants, at Exeter’s new dining destination, were in the festive spirit on Friday when they wore their best Christmas jumpers to raise money for charity.

Queen St. Dining’s Comptoir Libanais, KuPP, The Stable, The Terrace and Absurd Bird all participated in Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 16th December to raise money for Save the Children. Staff dressed up in their seasonal gear to spread festive cheer among Exeter’s diners.

Fundraisers plan 50-mile step into Christmas

A group of fundraisers will step into Christmas this week by walking 50 miles all through the night to support two local charities.

They plan to set out from Exeter at 1pm on Friday and will walk to Exmouth and back, on to Dawlish and finish in Exminster on the morning of Christmas Eve.

All they want for Christmas is decent weather and plenty of support and sponsorship for their chosen causes – FORCE Cancer Charity and Dream-A-Way.
