Devon charities announced as partners for huge weekend of live music

Four Devon-based charities have been selected to be official partners for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham runs for four nights from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28, featuring headline shows from vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims, seven-time GRAMMY winner Alanis Morissette and global superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Each night will see a local charity given the opportunity to have a team of fundraisers on site and for 2026 Live At Powderham will support Devon-based charities who make a big impact in the communities they serve....

Wilkinson Grant & Co, one of the region’s leading estate agents, has announced it will once again be the main sponsor of Hospiscare’s Men’s Walk, an eight-mile sponsored walk taking place in Exeter on Saturday 11th March, 2017.

Charity opens its doors to another season of milling

A leading conservation charity is set to open its doors to welcome the public to a new season of milling following essential winter maintenance to Exeter’s only working water mill.

Based at Cricklepit Mill near Exeter Quay, Devon Wildlife Trust has embraced its headquarters heritage and runs regular milling sessions where the public can watch Exeter’s only functioning water mill turn grain into flour and learn about the milling industry.

Everyone across the South West is being asked to unite on World Cancer Day, Saturday 4 February, to help beat cancer sooner. Researchers in Exeter have got together to highlight the day following news of a £5m grant in funding to improve the early detection of cancers in GP surgeries. Cancer Research UK is calling on men, women and children to play their part by wearing a Unity Band or donating. Princesshay has today announced local charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) as its 2017 charity partner.

Each year the shopping destination supports a different local charity. This year Princesshay hopes to help raise awareness that CHSW are the children’s hospice for local families in the Exeter area, through fundraising and events.

The new year has brought a new name for an Exeter-based charity that has helped thousands of people through its employment, mental health and supported living services.

Eighteen months ago St Loye’s Foundation and Community Care Trust (CCT) merged to create a 150-strong team that has helped 2,386 people move forward positively with their lives in the past year.

With the merger now firmly established, the joint organisation has rebranded with a new name – Step One – to make itself instantly recognisable for the public.

New South West charity network launched

Wealth Management Company, Brewin Dolphin Exeter, launched the first of a new series of South West Charity networking events. The inaugural event attracted over 60 guests from the charity sector including trustees, fundraisers, and executives as well as local professionals who travelled from as far away as Cornwall.
