St Loye's Foundation Charity Christmas Auction

Princesshay’s charity of the year, St Loye’s Foundation, is hosting a Christmas Charity Auction in Princesshay Square on Saturday 15 December with all proceeds going towards helping people with Autism in Exeter and East Devon.

The auction, which will features a host of products, services and experiences from supportive local businesses, will start with the bang of the auctioneer’s gavel at 3pm. Shoppers in Princesshay will have the opportunity to bid for prizes including Princesshay restaurant and retailers vouchers such as SAKS, The Cove, Strada, Carluccios and Yo! Sushi. Other prizes from local businesses include an ATK Go-Kart; a pair of Wills from WBW Solicitors and a meal for two at Michael Caines’ Abode Restaurant and a Dartmoor Gliding Voucher as well as signed Team GB Paralympic football shirts.

Phil Roberts, St Loye’s Foundation Fundraiser said: “We have been bowled over by the support of Princesshay retailers and Exeter businesses. We are so excited to be hosting this event which will raise money to enable us to continue to help people with autism in the local community.”

St Loye’s Foundation supporter and Paralympian blind footballer, Keryn Seal will be at the auction showing his support for the charity’s auction – he will also be available to sign autographs. Regional auctioneers Michael Shaw, Cathy Heslin and Peter Towill of Wilkinson Grant will be auctioning off the lots for sale and will be encouraging shoppers to increase their maximum bids to raise as much money as possible!

St Loye’s Foundation, which is celebrating its 75th year, helps people with disabilities access training and qualifications to achieve their employment goals. All funds raised at the auction will be donated to the Positive Opportunities Project which enables people with autism within Exeter and East Devon to access training, volunteering and employment opportunities.

Eagle-eyed visitors to Princesshay will also have noticed that the St Loye’s car raffle is still positioned between Reiss and Debenhams. The raffle, in which shoppers have the chance to win a Peugeot 107 for £1, is open until 4.30pm on Sunday 16 December with the lucky winner being chosen by the Lord Mayor on Monday 17 December at 11am – just in time to receive the car for Christmas.
