Adrian Thorley has raised an incredible £1,557 for local charity Rainbow Living after running the London Marathon in a brilliant time of 3 hours 45 minutes.

Adrian volunteered to take on the challenge of the London Marathon following an appeal from his employer, local healthcare and protection insurance provider The Exeter, as part of their fundraising efforts for Rainbow Living, which is the company’s Charity of the Year.

Having turned 50 this year, and as such in the ‘SuperVet’ category, Adrian is no stranger to long distance running, but this is the first time he has braved the London Marathon.

Talking about the experience Adrian said: “I’ve run a few marathons and half-marathons before, but the London Marathon is completely unique – and it was extra special as this year marked my half century!  There was a real sense of pride by everyone who took part, and an overwhelming feeling of taking part in something really special.  I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to run the London Marathon for Rainbow Living and to have helped the charity on their journey to acquire a third Rainbow House.”

Ruth Airdrie from Rainbow Living said: “We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Adrian for running the marathon on our behalf, and to everyone who has so generously supported him.  All money raised will go directly towards our third Rainbow house in the area, making a real difference to the lives of young adults with disabilities.”

To help Adrian and his fundraising you can donate on his charity page virginmoneygiving.com/AdrianThorley.  Every pound will be put to very good use.
