Exeter accountancy firm Thomas Westcott, is hosting a special charities seminar next month aimed at helping trustees.

The free event at the Exeter Golf and Country Club coincides with the annual Trustees Week, which showcases great work that trustees do and highlights opportunities for people to get involved and make a difference.

The seminar on Tuesday, 6th November, starts at 9.30am and runs until 12.30pm, when there will be a buffet lunch served.

First-time trustees, experienced trustees and those who may be considering becoming a trustee are invited to attend and will gain valuable insights into accountancy matters from the Thomas Westcott Charities Team and senior trustees from North Devon Hospice and Hospiscare, Exeter.

Speakers at the seminar from Thomas Westcott will be Steve Cresswell, partner, board member and head of the firm’s Charity and Not For Profit group alongside Kate Wise, Audit Manager and member of Thomas Westcott Charities Group.

From the North Devon Hospice the Joint acting Chief Executive and Director of Finance and Performance, Samantha Husband will be giving a presentation alongside their Chair of Trustees Angela Webb.

And Hospiscare trustee and managing director of Outside Adventure Consultants Ltd, Nick Agg-Manning will also be talking at the event.

Due to a large response; Thomas Westcott has now booked a larger room at the Exeter Golf and Country Club to accommodate 80 attendees.

Stephen Cresswell from Thomas Westcott said: "charities by their nature have different financial needs than other organisations, our specialist team are qualified to work with charities and we are delighted to share our expertise"

There will also be an opportunity to have a free private consultation with a Thomas Westcott specialist charities accountant straight after the seminar, however numbers are limited.

Email Olivia.Burls@thomaswestcott.co.uk to secure a booking on the day for both the seminar and consultation.
