If you go down to the woods on Saturday 21 December, be sure to take part in national pet charity Blue Cross’s Bark in the Dark event to help raise money for sick and homeless pets.

The event takes place in Haldon Forrest from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and is open to all the family and their four-legged friends. Registration takes place between 4:00pm and 6:00pm.

The 5k dog walk takes dogs and their owners on a festive guided walk through the forest in the dark of night.

All money raised from the events will go towards helping tens of thousands of sick, injured and homeless pets that Blue Cross helps every year at its animal hospitals and rehoming centres across the country.

Emma Jones, Blue Cross Community and Events Regional Manager, said: “We’re calling on all members of the family to don their head torches and get involved in our fun festive events this year.

“The work Blue Cross does to help vulnerable pets is totally reliant on public support and at Christmas our teams especially love to shower the pets in our care with festive love and treats. Money raised at our events helps us to provide these special moments for our pets at our centres and hospitals across the country.”

Entry costs £12 for adult, £8 for under 16s or £35* for a family (two adults and two children). To find out more visit www.bluecross.org.uk/barkinthedark. Tickets will be available mid-October.
