Colin hangs up his keys after clocking up 700,000 miles

A Stagecoach employee who has spent 42 years ‘on the buses’ has hung up his keys for the last time.

As an examiner Colin Kneeshaw was the man whose approval many drivers had to win before passing their test. But despite his intimidating role, he was a popular member of the team who, during his time, made a piece of company history.

Colin, 66, joined the former Devon General as a conductor after leaving the army. He only intended working for six months “until something better came along” but stayed for 12 and was then asked to train as a driver.

Careers South West has launched an initiative that promises to help fifty-somethings decide on their future career path.

The new ‘Mid Life Career Forecast’ service offers free careers advice sessions to people aged 50 and over and is available for up to 200 eligible people across the South West on a first come, first served basis.

Exeter is set to hold a new Awards evening this November that is set to be a little bit different from the rest. The Exeter Power 50 will celebrate the exploits, innovation and entrepreneurship of those individuals who have helped to power the reputation, economic, social and cultural success of the city.

Bubble Tea company goes bust

Bubble Bubble Co. on Exeter High Street has reportedly gone into liquidation.

A distressed employee contacted The Exeter Daily claiming that she would not be paid for her work as the company had become insolvent.

The employee had discovered the news after, having not recieved her wages, she visited the shop - only to find that it was closed with fixtures removed.

The mother of the 17-year old Bubble Bubble Co. worker said "They had done a moonlight flit job."

After contacting the company, the employee was told Bubble Bubble Co. had gone into liquidation....

St Ives chosen to host Celtic Media Festival 2014

The Celtic Media Festival returns for the 35th year running as major international festival.

The festival will take place on 2 April 2014 for three days in the scenic seaside town of St Ives. It aims to promote the distinctive language and culture of the Celtic regions on screen, and is expected to attract over 300 delegates.

New data from research company ICM reveals that 57% of young people in the South West would choose to do an Apprenticeship if one were available.
