Exeter’s SunGift Energy has proven once again that it is an exemplar installer of renewable energy by making the final of the prestigious South West Green Energy Awards for the sixth year in a row.

SunGift, which is also the only south west installer to have been named Renewable Energy Installer of the Year twice, received the news today after judges completed the initial shortlisting process.

“This is exceptional news,” said Gabriel Wondrausch,” managing director of SunGift.  “What started as a venture in the spare room of my house has now grown into a successful customer-focussed business, and I’m delighted that we have once again been recognised for the high-quality of our work.”

SunGift now goes through to the final stages of judging, where an expert panel of judges will decide on overall winners and runners up.  The company will find out if it has have won on 26 November when Gabriel attends the glittering awards ceremony at the Bath Assembly Rooms.

Organised by Regen SW, the South West Green Energy Awards recognise the increasing importance that renewable energy and energy efficiency play in the Westcountry in providing solutions to the threat of climate change.  The awards are now in their 10th year.

Merlin Hyman, chief executive of Regen SW, said: “This year has been our most competitive ever, with more than 100 entries from across the south west.  SunGift have demonstrated that they are among the best in their sector and I congratulate them on their achievement.

“SunGift is a prime example of the ground-breaking progress in renewable energy that we are currently witnessing, and it’s geeat to see that the commitment to renewable energy that was set out in our Manifesto earlier this year, backed by MPs and local enterprise partnerships, is already showing results.”

SunGift must now wait until the awards ceremony on 26 November to see if they have won a record third Renewable Energy Installer of the Year Award.
