Everys Solicitors in Exmouth has presented a cheque for £500 to the Ladies’ Starlight Walk top fundraiser.

By May 31, Helen Stoneman, from Cullompton, Devon, had raised £1,922.50 for Hospiscare following the 12km walk on May 10.

Her team, Anything But The Book, collectively hope to raise £5,000. Mrs Stoneman has boosted their total further by donating her prize money to Hospiscare.

Everys partner Kim Stradling and Katie Cuthbert, Hospiscare’s head of fundraising, presented Mrs Stoneman with her prize.

New regulations to protect consumers

New regulations have come in to force which will affect almost all contracts entered by consumers purchasing goods and services.

The regulations apply to contracts made on or after 13th June 2014. These regulations mean businesses may well need to make some significant changes to their paperwork and the way they deal with customers.

Hanlons Brewery, formerly O’Hanlons, was officially re-launched on Wednesday 5 June and celebrated with a party for over 300 guests.

Jim Bungard and Dan Taylor took over the flagging business last December and moved the existing brewing equipment into a purpose-built brewery at Half Moon Village near Exeter; re-branding and refreshing the image.
