What does a perfect business card look like?
Even in 2023, business cards haven’t lost their charm. No matter how digital the world becomes, there’s something different about meeting in person with a client or a business partner and sharing your company details with them through a card.
In fact, the global digital business card market is estimated to be around 200 million USD in 2023. However, to print a good business card, you need quite a lot of planning and creativity. So, if you wish to know what a perfect business card looks like, then keep reading below!
1. Template that reflects the brand
Your business cards represent your company and your position in one. So, they speak volumes about your brand.
For example, if you have a bakery business of your own, you don’t want to go for business cards that contain only the colors black or white. Here, you have the freedom to decorate your card with little cupcake motifs or other creative designs.
On the other hand, if you have a law firm, you won’t be able to make your business cards look less formal. In this case, you must go for stylish, minimal-looking business cards with clean edges and fonts.
2. Only important information included
Any business card will look good only when it looks clean and spaced out. Your clients won't be impressed if you cram too much information into a single card.
Include only the most essential information on the card, such as the company name, logo, office address, email address, and phone number. If you’re giving out personalized cards, don’t forget to include your name and designation too.
Other than this, you don’t really need to include any more information unless absolutely required. You may also wish to add a QR code or your company slogan, but only if space permits.
3. Has unique information
A perfect business card is not just a tool for making people remember your company. It is also promotional equipment to impress the receiver. If the back side of your business card is blank, you can include something quirky to impress the receiver.
For example, if you have a cafe business, you can include a short recipe for making a signature cup of coffee or latte.
Otherwise, you can even turn your business cards into a magnet by inserting a magnetic chip. This works especially well if you have a gardening, plumbing, or electrical repair company.
4. The font is legible
Any useful business card will make you realize the importance of font size and style. For example, you might be tempted to use cursive and fancy font for the basic contact details. But that will make reading anything much harder for your clients.
Instead, go for a simple font that people can comfortably read. The font size is also important here because you might have to give out cards to elderly people or people with vision impairments.
To make it easier for them, order business cards with a clear-enough font size that can be read from a distance.
5. The logo is visible
If your company logo is small or pushed to one corner of the card, it won’t be even close to perfect. Remember that your cards reflect your brand’s personality and motto. And if your company logo is imprinted on the receiver’s mind, they will automatically contact you.
The finalized brand logo and your brand colors are extremely important. So, ensure that the color palette on the cards is the same as your logo and that the logo is printed clearly.
6. There are no spelling errors
One of the worst mistakes any business owners can make on their cards is not proofreading before printing. If your cards are filled with grammatical or spelling errors, your customers will have a poor impression of your company.
Moreover, card printing is expensive. So, if you’re not careful, you cannot use even one card after spending so much! Make sure you proofread the contents you want to print on your card at least two or three times and then show them to someone else in your company so that they can spot any mistakes that you might have missed.
Over to you
