The Generator Co-work Hub in Dix's Field Exeter celebrated its official opening by The Rt. Hon. Lord Mayor of Exeter.

The Generator is a large open office space on the top floor of a Georgian building in Dix's Field that rents out a desk space to freelancers and small businesses for a day or a month with no contracts.

More than that it is a buzzing community of businesses and organisations that enjoy working in an open space where they can connect, chat, share ideas and support one another.

It's another sign of the thriving Digital economy in Exeter. Many of The Generator's users are Digital freelancers and the City is building a reputation as one of 'the' places in the South West to be.

"We are delighted with the way our community has grown from just a few people to the energetic & enthusiastic community we have now" says Tom Brushwood, operations manager "It's a great and inspiring place to be."

The Generator is affiliated to The Devon Work Hubs network set up by Devon County Council but is not funded by any public money and is entirely built up from grass-roots support of its users.

"Taking on an entire floor of one of the most prestigious locations in Exeter seemed like an impossible ambition but with the 'can do' attitude and support of our users we have created a fabulous space for a wide range of businesses"

The Generator is open Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm and people can book online or just drop in.
