Former Government Minister and Strictly Come Dancing star Ann Widdecombe is to be the latest in a long line of distinguished speakers to address the Michelmores Business Breakfast at Exeter Golf and Country Club.

The often outspoken politician, who vehemently opposed abortion and supported the reintroduction of the death penalty, is a rare anti-hunting Conservative.

She showed a softer side after retiring from politics when she began a range of media work including appearances on Celebrity Fit Club, Strictly Come Dancing and Have I Got News for You.  She is also an accomplished novelist, newspaper columnist and has begun a stage career with appearances both in pantomime and opera.  She now lives in Devon at Haytor.

Michelmores' Director of Client Services, Andrew Maynard said: “We are delighted to host Ann Widdecombe at our Business Breakfast.  She always has something interesting and entertaining to say.  I am sure she will be a great attraction for the business community.”

The event regularly attracts over 120 guests and raises money for a nominated charity which on this occasion is to be the British Red Cross.

Recent speakers at the event included Rob Baxter, Head Coach at Exeter Chiefs, polar explorer Ann Daniels, Police & Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg, former Royal correspondent Jennie Bond and former test cricketer, Vic Marks.

The next Michelmores Business Breakfast featuring Ann Widdecombe takes place at Exeter Golf & Country Club on Friday 28th March. For more information contact Sarah Coleman on sarah.coleman@michelmores.com
