Watson Fuels announced as Official Fuel Supplier to the Exeter Chiefs

Watson Fuels, the Wiltshire-based fuel distributor, has today been announced as the Official Fuel Supplier to the Exeter Chiefs for the 2013/4 season as part of a year-long partnership with the Aviva Premiership rugby club.

An independent and family-owned company, Watson Fuels supplies home heating oil, farm fuels, road diesel and a wide range of industrial lubricants throughout the West Country, and beyond.

Founded in 1957, the firm has expanded from its origins in rural Wiltshire, and now delivers fuels and lubricants through a national network of 45 depots nationwide. Watson Fuels opened its first depot in Devon in 1980. Since then, sales depots at Great Torrington, Totnes and Cullompton have followed, with the firm’s distinctive red fuel tankers serving domestic, industrial and agricultural customers all year round.

Now, as Watson looks to further strengthen its presence in the South West, the firm has agreed to partner with the Exeter Chiefs, becoming the Official Fuel Supplier to the Sandy Park-based club. Watson Fuels will also sponsor Chiefs players Kai Hortsmann and Don Armand for the 2013 / 14 season.

“We are very proud to be supporting the Exeter Chiefs,” comments Andrew Watson, Director, Watson Fuels.

“We have worked with the Chiefs for a number of years and have been impressed with developments both on and off the field. We are excited to have formalised our partnership with the club, and hope our support can fuel the Chiefs to further successes for the coming season.”

“We would like to thank Watson Fuels for their support,” comments Tony Rowe, Chairman & CEO, Exeter Chiefs.

“Watson, like the Exeter Chiefs, is a nationally-renowned brand, but a company that remains proud of its local heritage and committed to supporting our local community. We are proud to have the backing of Watson Fuels, and look forward to working with the company for many years to come.”

Recognised for providing a friendly, local service, Watson Fuels employs more than 600 people and runs a fleet of 280 tankers serving domestic, industrial and agricultural customers across the UK. In July, the firm was ranked in 53rd place in The Sunday Times Top Track 100 league table of Britain's largest private companies.
